The Mirtillo Rosso Family Hotel in Riva Valdobbia (VC) won the third place at the American Architecture Prize 2016, a showcase of excellence on modern world architecture, one of the most important US architecture prizes.

The bronze medal has arrived for the category "Interior Design-Hospitality", which has rewarded the eco-sustainable concept conferred by the architect Rita Cattaneo, to characterize the hotel as a reinterpretation of the Walser style, combining tradition and innovation.

The hotel is located in Valsesia, in the heart of a Walser community, a population of Germanic origin that inhabits the Alpine regions around Monte Rosa.

The structure is all green building, with attention to the use of each individual material. It consists of four buildings, of which three are chalets each on six floors for a total of 60 rooms, and the other houses the lobby, the restaurant, the bar, the kitchens, the common areas and those dedicated to children. lower, the spa.
